🌊 About Me
Hi, I’m Fabri.
I take pictures of the ocean. I also swim in it, dive through it, and sometimes just sit by it and wonder what’s going on beneath the surface. It’s kind of my thing.
I’m a skipper, a filmmaker, a rescue diver, and someone who spends a lot of time trying to figure out why the ocean seems to hold everything and nothing at once.
🐋 Here’s the deal
I’ve spent a good chunk of my life in places like the Canary Islands, hanging out with pilot whales and beaked whales, doing what I can to help with conservation. I’ve worked in South Africa with humpback whales , mostly collecting data and assisting innvestigation, but also getting a little emotional about it. (Who wouldn’t?)
I’ve filmed coral spawning, tagged sperm whales, and worked alongside scientists who are far smarter than me, doing things I can’t quite understand, but trust are incredibly important.
The ocean doesn’t really explain itself to you.
You just have to show up, pay attention, and try your best not to mess it up.
🌱 Why Am I Doing This?
I don’t know if anyone really has an answer to why we do what we do, but here’s mine: I started Spotted Fabri because the ocean deserves better than the way we treat it. I’m not saying I can single-handedly fix it, but maybe , just maybe... I can make you feel something for the water. If that happens, then maybe we’ll take better care of it.
Maybe.
The photos I share aren’t perfect.
Some of them are grainy, or a little too far from the action. My artistic approach goes far beyond technical. But if they make you pause, and think, and say “Wow, I didn’t know that was out there,” then I’ve done my job.
And the thing is, I don’t just want to show you the beauty of it. I want you to feel the weight of what’s at stake. 50% of all the proceeds from these photos go directly to conservation efforts, because the ocean won’t save itself. But together, we can help.
So, yeah. That’s what I do.
I take pictures of whales, reefs, and weird underwater creatures. But also, I try to make sure that what I’m doing isn’t just about me getting cool shots. It’s about all of us doing something for the planet. If you care about that, then we’re on the same page.
Thanks for being here. It means more than you know.
